Melbourne Police Arrests Two Juveniles After Attempted Burglary of Multiple Vehicles

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested two juvenile boys who were taken into custody after a resident watched them walking through the Feather Lakes Subdivision pulling car door handles intending to burglarize the vehicles on the 3500 block of Egret Drive in Melbourne, according to Lieutenant Tim Turner of the Melbourne Police Department.
When police arrived on scene they fled on foot but were later arrested after being contained in a perimeter.
The resident identified the boys and after further investigation it was determined they attempted to enter into approximately ten vehicles, according to Lt. Turner.
Neither boy lived in the subdivision.
This is another great example of the cooperative effort between the Melbourne Police Department and an alert citizen who called after noticing these suspicious individuals in his neighborhood.
Both subjects were charged with the following offenses; Attempted burglary to a conveyance-7 counts, Loitering and Prowling, Resisting Arrest without Violence and Violation of Probation.
