ABOVE VIDEO: The Cove Merchant’s Association was recently recognized as a Central Florida Humanitarian organization for their efforts on behalf of several worthy causes. The CMA began in the 1997 with five restaurants from Port Canaveral to provide a formal structure for attracting more visitors to the area. The organization now numbers 60 members from Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach, including large corporations such as Craig Technologies and Wells Fargo Bank. Every business that is critical for the Port’s vibrancy, from eateries to charter boats, from gambling ships to seafood stores, are represented. Although marketing the Cove and surrounding environs remains the primary focus of the Association, philanthropy has also played an important part of doing business at the Port.
