BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Todd Erickson, of Palm Bay Florida, is a notorious hitter. So much so, he broke the world record for the longest batted ball in history recently.

At Liberty Park in Palm Bay, Erickson struck a regulation softball 576 feet to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest batted ball in history.

“This was a great day for us and something I’ve been looking to do for a long time. The conditions were good and I was able to break the record. I’m extremely happy and satisfied,” said Todd Erickson.

Erickson recently spent time with Jose Canseco, a former Major League Baseball big hitter and received some valuable tips from the legendary big hitter.

Erickson garnered the attention of Canseco after Erickson hit a 570 foot strike earlier this summer.

What’s next for Erickson?

“I plan to keep getting stronger and be a better hitter,” said Erickson.
