Melbourne Police: Shots Fired At Moving Vehicle Monday Night Under Investigation

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating a shooting where shots were fired into a moving vehicle on Leonard Weaver Blvd. in Melbourne Monday night.
According to Sgt. Brian Dohaney of the Melbourne Police Department, three people in a vehicle were travelling south on Leonard Weaver Blvd. when an unknown assailant fired numerous gunshots at the vehicle at around 8 p.m..
Several bullets struck the vehicle causing a superficial wound to the buttocks of the rear passenger.
During the ensuing investigation a vehicle was located close to the scene which appeared to contain a significant amount of marijuana, according to Sgt. Dohaney.
This case is currently under investigation and additional information may be released when available.
