Police: Two Armed Assailants Rob Home In Melbourne, Shoot One Person

The Melbourne police reported that a pedestrian was struck and killed as he crossed N. Wickham Road, south of the Parkway Drive intersection, by a 2001 Toyota Sienna traveling southbound.
Melbourne Police are investigating an incident where two armed assailants confronted four residents inside an apartment on the block of Circle Ave. demanding anything of value early Monday morning at around 12:30 a.m.

One of the residents failed to cooperate, as a result, one of the gunmen fired a single shot striking the victim in the abdomen, according to Sgt. Brian Dohaney of the Melbourne Police Department.

The gunmen fled the area in an unknown vehicle dropping a box that contained counterfeit narcotics and paraphernalia.

The gunshot victim was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery.

The victim is in stable condition and is expected to recover, according Sgt. Dohaney.CRIMELINE-435-1
