BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Supply Zone for Teachers has received its first Kids In Need Foundation shipment since becoming a Junior Affiliate beginning this month.
The Kids In Need Foundation, a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing free school supplies to economically disadvantaged school children and under-funded teachers, sent Supply Zone for Teachers in Cocoa 17 pallets with more than 1,000 boxes of school supplies including backpacks, scissors, binders, activity workbooks and other assorted materials.
The Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need.
“We are immensely thankful for the supplies the Kids In Need Foundation has provided our community. With these supplies, students have a much better chance to succeed in our schools,” said Elizabeth Schreiber, Manager of Supply Zone for Teachers, a service of Brevard Schools Foundation.
The Supply Zone for Teachers is responsible for paying shipping costs, which were just over $2,000. The value of the merchandise received is well over $160,000.
The Supply Zone for Teachers, a service of Brevard Schools Foundation, is a resource center that provides free school supplies to local teachers and students at high-poverty schools. The “store” is stocked entirely through donations and is located at Clearlake Education Center in Cocoa.
