VIDEO: Brevard County Agents Arrest Suspect After High Speed Chase Thursday Morning

ABOVE VIDEO: Brevard County Agents arrested a suspect after a high speed chase on State Road 528 and State Road 520 early Thursday morning.
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Agents arrested a suspect after a high speed chase on State Road 528 and State Road 520 early Thursday morning at around 1:30 a.m.
Patti Denise Kimbrough, 51, of Cocoa, Florida, was placed under arrest by police.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was initially going 65 mph in a 45 mph zone when a police officer attempted to stop her on Clearlake Road and Dixon Blvd. located in Cocoa.
When the officer turned on his lights to stop the vehicle, the suspect turned onto Dixon Blvd where she accelerated to a high rate of speed, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
The aviation unit was then called in to track the vehicle.
The vehicle continued on to State Road 528 when officers laid out the stop sticks to paralyze the vehicle.
After successful deployment the vehicle struck the stop sticks but the suspect continued on SR 528 where she later lost control of the vehicle as she exited State Road 528 onto State Road 520.
After repeated commands from police to surrender, the suspect refused to cooperate and attempted to reverse the vehicle. Police then escorted the suspect out of the vehicle where Kimbrough was placed under arrest.
The suspect was found to be in possession of Hydrocodon, driving with a suspended license and out on felony bond. The suspects charges are pending.
