Eastern Florida State Defeats Lake-Sumter State 8-4, Improves To 10-5 Overall

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida’s baseball team improved to 10-5 on the season on Monday with an 8-4 victory over Lake-Sumter State at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus.

The victory was the third straight for Eastern Florida.

Lake Sumter dropped to 8-9.

Eastern Florida scored three runs in the fifth inning and two in the sixth to rally from a 3-2 deficit.

Sammy Duran went 3-for-3 for the Titans with three runs batted in; Jay Ciuro went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Ian Lisle 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Eddie Escribano pitched 5 2/3 innings of six-hit ball, striking out six to get the victory. Chase Evans picked up the save.

The Titans return to FCSAA Southern Conference action, traveling to Fort Pierce to play Indian River State at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. They then host non-conference foe Seminole State at 6 p.m. Wednesday and conference foe Broward College at 6 p.m. Thursday.
