Melbourne Police Foot Patrol Recovers Weapons, Large Amount of Drugs Thursday Night

 Melbourne police officers on foot patrol Thursday night about 11:40 p.m. uncovered drugs and firearms while they were on foot patrol after noticing the smell of drugs coming from a large group of subjects standing around vehicles at 2907 Carver Street.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne police officers on foot patrol Thursday night about 11:40 p.m. uncovered drugs and firearms after noticing the smell of drugs coming from a large group of people standing around vehicles at 2907 Carver Street.

According to the Melbourne police, upon approach the suspects began discarding unknown items under the vehicles.

“Further investigation revealed three semiautomatic pistols and a large amount of suspected marijuana and crack cocaine were discarded,”according to Melbourne Police Lt. Tim Turner.

“An additional semiautomatic pistol was discarded in the back floorboard of one of the parked vehicles.”

Criminal charges are pending as the Melbourne Police Department continues investigating this incident.
