BREVARD COUNTY – CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is set to launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on February 24 at 6:46 p.m.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will carrying the SES-9 Communications Satellite, part of a satellite fleet that will expand the capability to provide direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting and mobile communications in Indonesia, the Philippines, South Asia and Northeast Asia.

The satellite will be co-located with SES-7 and assist DTH operators with their transition to HD and Ultra HD content.

SES-9 will reach remote areas on land and over the Indian Ocean with high speed broadband services and powerful wide-beam coverage.
