Three Titans Bang Out Four Hits Each, Teams Scores 17 Runs in Win Over Lake Sumter

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA- Eastern Florida’s baseball team went on a hitting rampage on Wednesday to defeat host Lake-Sumter State College 17-9. The Titans banged out 22 hits and took advantage of five Lake-Sumter errors to improve to 8-5. Lake-Sumter fell to 7-7.

Lake-Sumter collected 10 hits while the Titans committed three errors.

Wednesday’s Titans outburst followed Tuesday’s 12-hit performance in a 5-3 loss to Polk State.

Noah Dyals got the victory for the Titans and Chase Evans the save in the eight-inning game.

Reuben Garia went 4-for-6 for the Titans with four runs batted in. Norbert Navarro went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI; Manny Rodriguez 2-for-5; John Capra 4-for-5; Ian Lisle 2-for-5 with two doubles; A.J. Puigcerver 2-for-5 with a double and Jay Ciuro 3-for-5 with a double and three runs batted in.

The Titans host CCBC Catonsville at 3 p.m. Friday at Bruce Bochy Field on the Melbourne Campus. Admission is free.
