ABOVE VIDEO LIVESTREAM: SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will deliver SES-9, a commercial communications satellite for SES, to a Geostationary Transfer Orbit. SES is a world-leading satellite operator that provides satellite-enabled communications services to broadcasters, Internet service providers, mobile and fixed network operators, and business and governmental organizations worldwide using its fleet of more than 50 geostationary satellites.

BREVARD COUNTY – CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – Wednesday’s launch attempt was scrubbed and rescheduled for Thursday at 6:46 p.m. The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 aims to take off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in 24 hours.

Launched was scrubbed due to high winds.

The approximately 90-minute launch window opens at 6:46:14 p.m. ET. The satellite will be deployed approximately 31 minutes after liftoff.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will carry the SES-9 Communications Satellite, part of a satellite fleet that will expand the capability to provide direct-to-home (DTH) broadcasting and mobile communications in Indonesia, the Philippines, South Asia and Northeast Asia.

The satellite will be co-located with SES-7 and assist DTH operators with their transition to HD and Ultra HD content.

SES-9 will reach remote areas on land and over the Indian Ocean with high speed broadband services and powerful wide-beam coverage.

The launch will be coupled with a first stage landing attempt on SpaceX’s autonomous drone ship.
