BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Grab your flipflops and lost shakers of salt and limp on over to the The River Rendezvous, “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” at 5 p.m. April 2 at 3781 Riverside Drive, Melbourne.
The event, hosted by Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic Association, features cheeseburgers, margaritas and music by Highway 1 Tropical Rock Duo.
Cabana Shores Tiki Bar and Grill will cater the party, which includes auction items such as vacation getaways to Florida’s own Duck Key and another in Sky Valley, Georgia.
MAP is seeking sponsors at these reservation levels:
• $1,000 “Best Bait in Town” (includes six reservations)
• $500 “Fins to the Right” (four reservations)
• $250 “Fins to the Left” (two reservations)
Others wanting to attend can pay $75.
The soiree is a major source of scholarship money for the year, Lacey Robbins, MAP spokeswoman, said in a release.
Melbourne Alumnae Panhellenic dates to the 1950s, and has given out more than $300,000 in scholarships to Brevard County girls attending Florida colleges who are also members of Panhellenic Conference organizations.
