FBI Arrests Gold Heist Suspect In Florida, Seeks Identity of Additional Perps

The FBI announced the arrest of Adalberto Perez, 46, of Opa Locka, Florida, for his alleged involvement with the robbery of a tractor trailer carrying gold in North Carolina in March 2015.

According to the FBI, Perez was arrested without incident by FBI agents at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday morning in Opa Locka.

Florida law enforcement agencies involved in this investigation include the Florida Highway Patrol, Miami Dade Police Department, Doral Police Department and the FBI’s South Florida Violent Crime Task Force.

Perez’s initial appearance is expected to be in federal court in Miami, Florida.

According to the FBI, investigators are seeking additional information about this robbery and continue to offer a reward of up to $25,000.
