BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Program will be conducting a prescribed burn at the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary Management & Education Center on Thursday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All trails will be shut down and the area will most likely be smoky. Guests are still welcome to enjoy to the Education Center and gardens.
Prescribed burns involve the careful application of fire by professionals under specific weather and fuel conditions to achieve environmental resource management goals.
Prescribed burns are beneficial to many of the habitats in Florida.
They help recycle nutrients, restore and manage habitats, and help reduce fuel build-ups, thus protecting our homes and businesses from potential wildfires.
The Enchanted Forest Sanctuary Management & Education Center was created and is managed under Brevard County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands Program referendum.
The referendum was established by voters in 1990 to protect and preserve the rich biological diversity of Brevard County for future generations.
