BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and its contractor, Southern Road & Bridge LLC., are scheduled to begin a project on the State Road (SR) 520 bridges over the Indian River (Hubert Humphrey Causeway).

Work is expected to start Monday, March 28, and be complete in spring 2017.

The project involves cleaning and repairing the bridge superstructure, and applying a steel metal coating for waterproofing.

The project also involves applying a bridge deck coating to protect and extend the life of the bridge.

To complete the work, periodic nighttime lane and sidewalk closures will be necessary between the hours of 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. Signs will alert motorists of any closures.
