May 7 at Burton Smith Park in cocoa
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – We wanted to give everyone a quick reminder about the upcoming 2016 Barbara Pill Memorial Ride in honor and namesake of Deputy Barbara Pill.
The motorcycle ride is held annually to raise money for the Brevard County Public Safety Charity. This year’s event will take place on May 7 and will start and end at F. Burton Smith Park in Cocoa.
As we ride each year in honor of Barbara, we also reflect on her tragic loss and everything that she meant to our agency and community. Barbara was an incredible mom, deputy, and friend to all who knew her and this ride will always be part of memorializing her legacy of service.
Registration will begin at 7 a.m. with “Kick Stands Up” at 10 a.m. Upon conclusion of the ride there will be a BBQ.
The rider cost is $20 with a $10 passenger fee. There are also many raffle prizes and a 50/50, so everyone can participate, even if they are not riding.
It’s always a great event to support a very worthy charity. The Public Safety Charity is a not for profit that was created to help our first responders and public safety members in their time of need.
I hope you will plan to attend as our agency and community honors the memory of our lost family member and her incredible courage, dedication, professionalism, and sacrifice.
As always, thank you for everything that you do to make our Public Safety Community one of the finest in the nation.
Please call Al Boettjer at 321-412-3542 or email NYPDGold@aol.com to purchase tickets for the incredible raffle items, or purchase event T-shirts ($15).
