BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Chief Jim Stables recognized Palm Bay’s outstanding Fire-Rescue team for their hard work and dedication to serving their community during an awards banquet held April 12.
Chief Stables also presented awards for the Civilian of the Year, EMS Provider of the Year, Fire Officer of the Year and Firefighter of the Year.
Palm Bay Fire-Rescue consists of six fire stations that cover the City of Palm Bay with fire and medical services.
Chief Jim Stables joined Palm Bay Fire-Rescue in 1986 after serving as a firefighter/fire inspector for a year in South Florida. After a brief time with Brevard County Fire-Rescue, serving as a captain and district chief, he returned to Palm Bay in 2001 as battalion chief.
In his fire service career, he has risen progressively through the ranks. Chief Stables has more than 25 years of progressive experience in the fire service and holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration.
