POLICE: Four Wounded In Drug Related Shooting In Cocoa, 1 Critical, 3 In Serious Condition

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – Four people were wounded following a shooting incident late Wednesday evening. One victim was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition, and three others victims were in serious condition.
According to Yvonne Martinez, Cocoa Police Department Public Information Officer, at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night, patrol officers responded to the Affordable Living Center, located at 900 Friday Road, after multiple 911 calls from witnesses reporting a shooting in the parking lot.
“When officers arrived they found the victims, who had fled in different directions,” said Martinez in a release. “One victim was found in a wooded area across the street from the complex.”
Three other victims had fled south in a vehicle and was located at a gas station near the intersection of State Road 524 and state Road 520. Officers also located drugs in the vehicle and in the roadway.
“Detectives and crime scene technicians responded to gather evidence and interview witnesses,” said Martinez. “The incident is not a random act and is believed to be drug related.”
The identities of the victims are not currently available. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as the investigation allows.
