Melbourne K9 Officer ‘Scout,’ Officer David Helms Take Down Teen Suspect After Vehicle Pursuit

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – On Tuesday night, Melbourne Police Officer David Helms, along with his K9 partner Scout and other patrol officers from Night Watch Alpha, arrested a 16-year-old suspect from Melbourne for allegedly stealing a vehicle.

The arrest was made after a long stolen vehicle pursuit and a foot chase.

K9 Scout got the scent and located the teen who was trying to hide from the officers.

The teen was arrested for numerous charges that include grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding police.
