Stone Middle School Placed On Lockdown After Reported Gunshots Near Surrounding Area

Matthew D. Pollison, 25, of Titusville, has been identified by the Titusville police as the victim in the Traffic Homicide on Friday at 1400 North Washington Avenue.
A lockdown was placed on Stone Middle School Thursday afternoon as a precautionary measure after reported gunshots near the area of the school on University Boulevard, according to Brevard Public Schools.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A lockdown was placed on Stone Middle School Thursday afternoon as a precautionary measure after reported gunshots near the area of the school on University Boulevard, according to Brevard Public Schools.

The lockdown has since been lifted.

At around 2:30 p.m., police responded to a scene and are still working on locating two of the suspects whom were dressed in black clothing, according to law enforcement.

Police are continuing to search the south Melbourne neighborhood and other nearby areas.
