Tri Cocoa Village Sprint and Olympic Triathlon Set Sunday, To Feature Top Athletes In USA

The Cities of Cocoa and Rockledge will host the 2nd Annual Tri Cocoa Village Triathlon on Sunday, May 22.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA VILLAGE, FLORIDA – The Cities of Cocoa and Rockledge will host the 2016 Tri Cocoa Village Sprint and Olympic Triathlon on Sunday, May 22.

MultiRace is the largest multiple-sport event management company in the State of Florida, managing more than 30 endurance events scheduled for 2016.

All 2016 Triathlon/Duathlon events, including the Tri Cocoa Village Sprint Olympic Triathlon, will be sanctioned by the USAT.

Some of the top athletes in the country will be coming to Brevard County to try and walk away with the top prize in three different races.

The Sprint Duathlon will consist of a one-mile run, 10-mile bike ride and 3.1-mile run. The Sprint Triathlon will consist of a .25-mile swim, 10-mile bike ride and 3.1-mile run.

The Olympic Triathlon will consist of a 1,500-meter swim, 24.9-mile bike ride and 6.2-mile run.

The swimming portion of the race starts near the dock at Lee Wenner Park in Cocoa. The biking portion of the race will take place in Cocoa along Indian River Drive, while the run takes place on Rockledge Drive in Rockledge.

The Awards Ceremony will be held at Riverfront Park in Cocoa.

RACE SCHEDULE

Saturday, May 21:
• 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Packet Pick-up (Ryan’s Pizza)
• 1 p.m. – Pre-Race Clinic

Sunday, May 22 (Race Day):
• 5:30-6:30 a.m. – Late Packet Pickup and Registration (if race not sold out)
• 6:45 a.m. – Transition Closes
• 6:45 a.m. – Olympic Triathlon Begins
• 7 a.m. – Sprint Triathlon and Duathlon Begin
• 9:15 a.m. – Awards Ceremony
