BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 47-year-old Wayne Alan Massey after a vehicle chase ended on Grissom Parkway Monday afternoon.

Massey is being charged with Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Petit Theft, Using a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement.

According to Cpl. Dave Jacobs of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began at approximately 2:30 p.m. when Deputies responded to KT’s Tavern, located at 5150 Highway 520 in response to an Armed Robbery.

The victims told the Deputies that a white male had entered KT’s Tavern displaying a firearm and demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and left the business in a bright yellow Jeep.

Deputies responding to the area quickly located the jeep heading north on Grissom Parkway and attempted to stop the vehicle.

According to Cpl. Jacobs, Massey refused to comply and the deputies engaged the vehicle in a short pursuit.

“A deputy quickly found an opportunity to safely terminate the pursuit, which resulted in the jeep crashing into the median and the suspect was taken into custody,” said Cpl. Jacobs in a release.

“There were no other suspects or occupants of the vehicle.”
