City of Palm Bay’s Annual Hurricane Expo Set For Saturday At City Hall

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – The city’s annual Hurricane Expo in partnership with iHeart Media, is planned for Saturday, June 11th from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the lawn at City Hall, 120 Malabar Rd. SE.
News 13 Chief Meteorologist Bryan Karrick will be in attendance answering questions, taking pictures with fans and sharing important preparedness information about the upcoming storm season and other storm stories.
More than 50 public safety related vendors and public safety experts will be in attendance at the event to provide important information and resources. Participants include Brevard County Emergency Management, the National Weather Service, the Salvation Army and many others.
Local retailers and food vendors like Beef O’Bradys, Tropical Smoothie, Harbor Freight and others will have free giveaways including food and non-alcoholic beverages.
“The Hurricane Expo is always a fun and informative event,” said Fire-Rescue Battalion Chief Gene Harrell.
“We started this event in 2005 and every year it has grown. The idea is to provide residents with an opportunity to learn about preparedness and get to know the people that provide public safety products, services and information.”
Throughout the event there will be presentations from various agencies, live music and door prizes.
