Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers were suspicious when they spotted two small skiffs tucked away in a mangrove thicket, and decided to keep an eye on them during regular patrols.

Late one night, when the skiffs were not in their hidey-holes, FWC officers went into action and, with the help of police, nabbed a suspected poacher.

On one of the skiffs was a bag with 87 speared lobsters, two speared stone crab (whole and undersized) and an undersized mangrove snapper.

The man was cited and is awaiting an appearance in court for the violations.
