BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The City of Melbourne is mandated by the State of Florida to conduct Lead and Copper Household Tap Sampling Programs.

We are required to test water samples from at least 100 homes that meet certain age criteria.

We have sent letters to homes within the state-approved sampling plan areas requesting participation. We understand that private companies have also been sending correspondence to many of our water customers about sampling, which may be causing some confusion.

The official letter from the City of Melbourne is on City letterhead and signed by Harold C. Nantz, P.E., our Assistant Public Works & Utilities Director. (See image below.)

MELBOURNE-LETTER-580

If you have received this letter from the City, we strongly encourage that you verify your participation. If you have any questions, please call Robin Schaffroth, Utilities Administrative Specialist, at 321-608-5000.
