Merritt Island, Mims Advance In Little League District 22 All-Star Action

District 22 All-Stars continues play Friday night
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – District 22 All-Star play got underway Thursday night in the 8-10 Year Old division at Jim Hensley Park in Merritt Island.
Both games were broadcast and streamed on Space Coast Daily by the Friday Night Locker Room crew of Orville Susong, Steve Wilson and Alan Zlotorzynski.
• Pool A, Merritt Island 12, Indian River City 1: Indian River City Little League met Merritt Island Little League. Indian River City’s Tucker Hanson scored a run as Isaac Russell picked up the RBI.
But, Merritt Island’s Kide Adetuyi scored 3 runs and had 4 RBI while Jayce Brandes had 3 RBI and Austin Dockery pitched the entire game allowing 2 hits, 2 walks and getting 8 strikeouts. Merritt Island won the game 12 – 1 in 3 1/2 innings.
• Pool B, Mims 11, Cocoa 3: Mims Little League battled Cocoa Little League. For Mims, G. Brown hit a 2-run in-the-park home run while B. O’Brien went 3-for-4 scoring 3 runs and B. Sargenti had a double and scored 2 runs. Cocoa’s D. Ruth had a double. In the end, Mims won 11-3 in 6 innings.
The 8-10 Year Old division continues play Friday night, including Indian River City vs. Rockledge and Port St. John vs. Cocoa. Both games will be streamed on Space Coast Daily by the Friday Night Locker Room crew starting at 7 p.m.
