Merritt Island, Port St. John Advance To Little League District 22 All-Star Title Game

CHAMPIONSHIP GAME SET MONDAY AT 7 P.M.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The District 22 All-Star Little league 8-10 Baseball Division Pool Play concluded play on Saturday at Merritt Island’s Jim Hensley Park.
• In Pool A: Merritt Island 10, Rockledge 0
Rockledge’s Alex Tilton and Ezra Fafard had singles. But Merritt Island’s Aiden Fowks had a 3-RBI double and Clayton Cooksey pitched the first 2 innings, while Kide Adetuyi closed the next 2 innings for Merritt Island’s 10-0 win in 3 1/2 innings.
• In Pool B: Port St. John 21, Mims 2
Mims’ Cole Redick had a triple while Brock O’Brien had a triple and scored. But it wasn’t enough as Port St. John’s Stratton Haynes hit a grand slam and a double and brought in 6 runs while Jake Loeffler went 2-for-3, scoring 3 runs and Nick Wimberly had a double and scored 4 runs. The final score was Port St. John – 21 and Mims – 2.
This sets up Monday night’s final game between Port St. John and Merritt Island for the District 22 Champion, who will then move on to the Florida Section 3 Tournament.
