BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Just in time for summer, the City of Palm Bay has made $160,000 worth of improvements to Veterans Memorial Park.
Veterans Memorial Park is located at 2200 Port Malabar Boulevard NE in Palm Bay.
Improvements include a new basketball court with LED lighting, resurfacing of the tennis courts with new standards and nets, and the re-opening of the swimming pond.
The revitalization projects were completed utilizing Community Development Block Grant funds.
The re-opening of the swimming pond included drilling a new well to feed the pond, plugging the old well that had become unusable, relocating the storm drains, new signage and revitalization of the sandy beach.
The new lights on the basketball court are high efficiency LED lights. It is the only LED lighted court in Brevard County. The city also plans to build a new volleyball court in the park to be completed by spring of 2017.
