BREVARD COUNTY • INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, FLORIDA — The Haven for Children Guild is excited to announce their annual fall fundraiser, the Havenly Affair will be Sunday October 9 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The fundraiser will take place at the stunning Sterling Stables located in Cocoa.
This year’s theme will be “Linen & Lace.”
This is the beginning of their 30-year anniversary celebration, commemorating the founding of the residential group homes that care for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment.
“This will be a truly special Havenly Affair,” says Vimarie Monopli, Director of Development for The Haven for Children.
“A chance to bring together our generous community of supporters and reflect on all that has been accomplished over the last 30 years, and to announce some exciting things happening at The Haven in the near future.”
Sterling Stables offers stunning landscape views and elegant atmosphere, where guests will enjoy live bluegrass music, authentic down home country cuisine, and mingle in the expansive yard.
As a fun twist on traditional raffles, guests will have the opportunity to play yard games like corn hole and ring toss for the exciting prizes and packages they’ve come to expect from The Havenly Affair, including hotel stays, jewelry, fine wine and certificates to some of the best restaurants and experiences on the Space Coast.
“The Haven is a family,” says Madeline Cales the chair for the 2016 Havenly Affair.
“And, this is our family reunion. We are planning a unique afternoon that combines rustic chic with southern charm for an affair you won’t want to miss!”
The Haven for Children began as a project of the Junior League of South Brevard, and was formally founded in the fall of 1986.
Six months later, in April of 1987 they opened the doors to the first residential group home. Today The Haven consists of three homes and has cared for over 3,500 children.
Events such as this help raise funds to cover the therapeutic services, extracurricular experiences and essentials above and beyond what the state provides for the 31 foster children who call The Haven home.
Sponsorship packages for the event are now available and begin at just $500. Tickets to the affair will be $150 per person and must be purchased in advance.
