Titusville Police Identify Motorcycle Crash Fatality, Investigation Continues

BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – William Roger Ramsey, 52, of Titusville, has been identified as the motorcycle fatality in the traffic crash on Monday at Washington Avenue just north of Harrison Street.

According to Amy Matthews of the Titusville Police Department, TPD officers responded to a report of a traffic crash with injuries involving a motorcycle on Washington Avenue (U.S. 1) just north of Harrison Street at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Monday.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Ramsey was driving his motorcycle northbound on Washington Avenue when he apparently veered into the median and struck a utility pole just north of Harrison Street.

Ramsey was pronounced deceased at the scene at 3:52 p.m. There were no other vehicles involved in the traffic crash.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Washington Avenue were closed for approximately 2 hours.

This crash remains under investigation and further details will be released upon its conclusion by traffic crash investigators.
