ABOVE VIDEO: With a very busy election season and back to school shopping time upon us, Brevard County Supervisor of Elections Lori Scott will be a very busy woman. She took no time off this summer and provided a tremendous boost for her Back to School Supply Drive when she raised money by “Dancing for the Space Coast.”
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Lori Scott, Brevard County Supervisor of Elections, partnered with the Brevard Schools Foundation for the Fifth Annual Back to School Supply Drive.
Several hundred items were generously donated to all four of the Supervisor of Elections offices, including 28 backpacks. In addition, $180 was collected in cash contributions.
“The goal of the Back to School Supply Drive is to ensure every child is prepared for the upcoming school year by providing them with the necessary supplies,” said Scott.
“We are proud to help the children in our community feel confident heading back to school.”
Brevard County Supervisor of Elections offices in Viera, Titusville, Palm Bay and Melbourne collected school supplies from June 13 – July 21. The community donated backpacks filled with pencils, highlighters, notebooks, scissors, school glue and folders.
The donated supplies will be distributed at the Clearlake Education Center Supply Zone for Teachers on Saturday, July 30. Please contact Jessica Santamaria, Outreach Coordinator, at 321-690-6850 for more information.
