LET'S MAKE this SECOND GREATEST 4th OF JULY

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Monday morning, we will awake to celebrate the 4th of July and the Independence of our great nation. It will most likely be like every other 4th of July in modern time, where we celebrate another long weekend with family and friends, barbecues, boating, picnics, going to the beach and fireworks.

But unfortunately, I believe this year is truly different. I believe that this year as a nation, we must pause for a moment before we put the boat in the water or the sauce on the ribs and ask ourselves exactly what is that gives us the ability to enjoy the freedoms we have today.

What makes being an American so special and why are we considered the greatest nation on earth?

The answer is simple…it is our Independence!

On July 4th, 1776, our Independence was declared. It was earned with the blood and sweat of our forefathers who fought tyranny and oppression to earn our right to Independence.

Today our nation and our way of life is under attack! Repeated acts of aggression committed by those who have made it their mission to create an environment of fear. Their ultimate goal is to take from us what unfortunately we ourselves often take for granted… our freedoms!

Today our nation and our way of life is under attack! Repeated acts of aggression committed by those who have made it their mission to create an environment of fear. Their ultimate goal is to take from us what unfortunately we ourselves often take for granted… our freedoms!

The fear of terrorism is often much worse than the terrorist themselves. Without question, fear is their strongest weapon. They want to divide us and force us to change our way of life.

But what they don’t understand, is that with each attack we as a nation and those like us around the world unite and become even stronger!

So starting right now, on this incredible 4th of July weekend, let’s send a strong message to those who intend to harm us or desire to take away our way of life.

Before we hop in the pool, head to the beach, or light the grill, lets show our unity by flying “Old Glory” proudly in our yard, on our vehicles, in our business windows, and in our every day thoughts. It’s time to paint our homes, our businesses, our cities, and our county Red, White, and Blue so everyone knows we stand together as one nation!!

Not just for this weekend, but from this point forward, lets show just how fearless we are of their threats and radical actions.

Starting right now, let’s collectively send a message to those who intend us harm, that this is America and we are Americans, and although we may come from different backgrounds, religions and ethnicity, we are One Nation Under God and if you mess with one of us you just bought the farm and now you have to mess with all of us!

On behalf of our entire agency we ask that you please take a moment to thank and pray for those who continue to protect our freedoms across the globe!

Have a very safe and happy 4th of July!
