EVENT SPOTLIGHT: Eighth Annual Mims Mullet Festival Scheduled For First Saturday In October

BREVARD COUNTY • MIMS, FLORIDA – The Mims United Methodist Church and the First Baptist Church of Mims are hosting the 8th annual Mims Mullet Festival on Saturday, October 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event is located on the church grounds at 3302 Green Street (MUMC) and 2395 Kentucky Ave (FBCM), Mims, FL 32754.
Admission to the festival is free.
There will be smoked and fried mullet dinners, BBQ chicken and pork dinners or sandwiches, or if you prefer, hamburgers and hotdogs. Dinner plate prices include 2 sides and a drink.
Both churches will host a bake sale, so you can also purchase a delicious home-made treat for dessert or take home a whole cake.

Entertainment includes rock climbing, bouncy house, horse rides, kids’ games, a car show with 50+ autos, a craft fair, big cat display, and music all afternoon.
Games are reasonably priced, with discounts for wrist bands. Girls aged 10-13 and 14-18 can also enter the Mullet Maiden contests.
Also, on Sunday, Oct. 2, there will be a free outdoor community breakfast and church service at First Baptist Church of Mims. Breakfast is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and the service is at 9:30 a.m.
