The Dolphins are coming off of a disappointing season in 2015 in which they finished 6-10 and in last place of the AFC East.

Head Coach Adam Gase is the youngest head coach in the NFL

The poor showing led to the firing of head coach Joe Philbin who was replaced by Adam Gase. At 38 years of age, Gase will be the youngest head coach in the NFL this season and seventh head coach since Miami replace Dave Wannstedt in 2004.

Despite being of the top spending teams in NFL free agency during the 12-year span, Miami has only made the playoffs once since 2002.

Coaches and players use the third game of the exhibition season as a dress rehearsal for the regular season. Many of the starters play well into the third quarter. Those same starters do not even put on a uniform for the fourth and final game of the preseason.
