BREVARD COUNTY • PORT CANAVERAL, FLORIDA – The August Port Canaveral Commission meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. Wednesday and below are video reports on main agenda items.

The Board of Commissioners holds regularly scheduled meetings on the third Wednesday of each month unless otherwise posted.

Meetings are held in the Port Authority Commission Room at Port Canaveral and are open to the public.

ABOVE VIDEO – Port Canaveral CEO Capt. John Murray reports: CRUISE UPDATE: Arrival preparations for the RCCL Oasis of the Seas and the Norwegian Epic are underway; CARGO UPDATE – 274 ship calls year to date, Seaport Canaveral is thriving and AutoPort is bringing in multiple new car makes and models; GROUND TRANSPORTATION UPDATE – rules and regulations will be posted this week with BETA testing to start November 1.

ABOVE VIDEO: Don Weaver of Brevard Veteran’s Council informs the Commission of the expansion of the Brevard Veteran’s Center; The Canaveral Port Authority passed a resolution to provide support in the amount of $25,000 to the Brevard Veteran’s Center.

ABOVE VIDEO – Port Canaveral Sr. Director of Facilities, Construction & Engineering Bill Crowe with a Capital Projects update: During its first turn, Cruise Terminal 5 had more 7,000 passengers pass through in one day; Cruise Terminal 10 is under renovation and progressing at a blistering pace and scheduled to reopen early November.
