Bob Freeman’s Surf Report For September 3-5 In Brevard County

By  //  September 3, 2016

has been surfing Brevard's waves since 1966

Waves are looking mostly unrideable this morning. Late-morning's lower tide could help make the small waves more rideable by then. Surfers seeking an early morning surf session may want to focus on Cocoa Beach's northernmost beaches for a longboardable wave.
Cocoa Beach ocean temperatures now average 79 degrees.

SURF REPORT FOR SEPTEMBER 3-5

Bob Freeman has been surfing Brevard's waves since 1966.
Bob Freeman has been surfing Brevard’s waves since 1966.Waves are not looking very fun this morning. There is plenty of northeasterly groundswell remaining, but onshore winds from passing storms are producing sloppy conditions.

Strong southwesterly winds are blowing the surf flat this Friday afternoon. There is underlining groundswell remaining, but the strong winds are keeping it just outside our surf zones.

SATURDAY: Expect small scale surf running in the knee- to thigh-high range. Winds will diminish to a gentle offshore breeze during the early morning hours.

SUNDAY: Surfing conditions will begin to improve as traces of Hermine’s groundswell filter down form the north. Light and variable winds will produce semi-clean surface conditions.

MONDAY: I believe surf heights will build during the day as more tropical northeasterly groundswell fills in. Steady winds from the southeast will present bumpy surface conditions.

Cocoa Beach ocean temperatures now average 79 degrees.
