BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Eastern Florida State College is prepared to assist students from ITT Technical Institutes seeking to transfer following Tuesday’s closure of ITT campuses nationwide.

“As a state college, we’re open to everyone and will gladly help them if they’re interested in coming here,” said Dr. Linda Miedema, EFSC’s Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs and Chief Learning Officer.

“That includes taking a look at each transcript and determining credit for possible transfer into our programs. We want to see them continue their education at Eastern Florida if they can.”

ITT’s shutdown came shortly after the U.S. Education Department — citing financial instability and the likely loss of accreditation — barred its parent company from enrolling new students using federal financial aid funds.

The for-profit college had campuses in Orlando and other Florida cities. About 40,000 ITT students nationwide have been affected by the closure.

ITT students seeking information can visit EasternFlorida.edu/go/transfer or call 321-632-1111.
