Through Florida Tech’s first four games Rockledge-product Karlyn Prisco has 16 saves and three clean sheets, and boasts a goals against average of 0.244, good for second best in the SSC

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA– After guiding the women’s soccer team to back-to-back shut out victories over a pair of Gulf South Conference members last week, Florida Tech’s Karlyn Prisco was named the Sunshine State Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 5-11, announced by the SSC office on Monday.

In Friday’s game against Christian Brothers, the redshirt-junior turned the Bucs away three times over the 90 minutes to give the Panthers a 1-0 win.

Prisco then closed out the weekend, two days later, by blanking West Alabama with a five save performance en route to Florida Tech’s 4-0 victory.

Through FIT’s first four games, the Rockledge-product has 16 saves and three clean sheets, and boasts a goals against average of 0.244, good for second best in the SSC.

Prisco and the undefeated Panthers (4-0) return to Stottler Field this Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET for their SSC opener against number 12 Barry.
