John Charles McLean of Merritt Island Found With Fatal Gunshot Wound To Head

The Cocoa police reported that John Charles McLean, 53, of Merritt Island, Florida, was discovered on Friday at approximately 7:49 p.m., unresponsive inside a vehicle parked at 150 Minutemen Causeway in Cocoa Beach.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The Cocoa Beach police reported that John Charles McLean, 53, of Merritt Island, Florida, was discovered on Friday at approximately 7:49 p.m., unresponsive inside a vehicle parked at 150 Minutemen Causeway in Cocoa Beach. 

According to Cocoa Beach police Sergeant Manny Hernandez, McLean sustained a gunshot wound to the head, was transported to an area hospital with life threating injuries, and was later pronounced deceased.

“At this time it is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat or safety concern for residents and surrounding areas,” said Sgt.Hernandez in a release.  “This is still an active ongoing investigation.”
