Melbourne Police Take Down Suspect With Numerous Drugs, Gun Charges

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police have arrested 25-year-old Kaywon Brown for various drug and gun charges Friday night.

According to a release by the Melbourne Police Department, officers were conducting routine patrols in the area of East University Blvd. and Leonard Weaver Blvd. when they observed a Red Ford F-150 traveling with an expired registration.

A traffic stop was conducted and the officers were alerted to the smell of marijuana upon contact with the driver, Kaywon Brown.

A probable cause search of the vehicle and Brown revealed the presence of 25 grams of Marijuana, a trafficking amount of Oxycodone, Cocaine, Alprazolam, and two firearms.

Brown was arrested without incident.

The suspect was charged with Trafficking in Oxycodone, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Alprazolam, Possession of Cannabis greater than 20 grams, and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

The Melbourne Police Department is investigating this incident.
