National Hurricane Center Monitors System In Atlantic, Expected To Strengthen By End of Week

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – According to the National Hurricane Center, shower and thunderstorm activity associated with a low pressure area system is located about 1300 miles east-southeast of the Windward Islands.

The system has changed little in organization since early Sunday.

Experts say, environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development and a tropical depression is likely to form later this week.

• Formation chance through 48 hours, low, 30-percent

• Formation chance through 5 days, high, 90-percent

The low is projected to move west to west-northwest at 15 to 20 mph over the next few days.

The path shows it is projected affect the Windward Islands, the southeastern and south-central Caribbean Sea, as well as the northern coast of South America.

Experts will continue monitor the progress of this system.
