Tropical Storm Matthew Draws Closer to Florida, Projected To Hit Jamaica As Hurricane On Monday

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – According to the National Weather Service, Tropical Storm Matthew has formed in the eastern Caribbean near the Windward Islands.
Matthew is expected to become a hurricane as it moves west over the next several days.
The storm system is reaching 60 mph max sustained winds, as of Wednesday morning, and is moving to the West at 21 mph.
Weather models expect the system to continue to the West until the end of the week where the projection shows a direct turn to North, heading for a direct hit to Jamaica by Monday morning.
The storm is currently around 1650 miles SE from Cape Canaveral.
