BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Tech senior Nir Barnea has been named a Preseason All-American by CollegeSwimming.com, becoming the first Panther in program-history to earn the prestigious honor.

Barnea is named preseason all-american in the 50-yard freestyle, an event in which the Israeli native earned the FIT men’s first Sunshine State Conference (Space Coast Daily Story Below) Gold Medal in 2016 with a time of 19.98.

The senior wrapped up the NCAA Championships with a pair of All-American nods after helping the 200 free and 400 free relay teams to respective sixth and eighth-place finishes.

Barnea is one of 121 Division II swimmers from 38 institutions to make the cut.
