BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Eight different players scored as the No. 1 nationally-ranked Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer team defeated ASA Miami 11-0 Monday night at Titan Soccer Complex.
The Titans, who improved to 8-0 on the season, also got a hat trick from last week’s Student-Athlete of the Week Darien Davis who now has nine goals on the season.
Davis once again used her speed to get past the defense on numerous occasions Monday night, scoring once in the first half and two more including the final goal of the night in the second half.
Bunny Shaw finished with a pair of goals while Nathali Da Silva, Rachel Spahr, Danielle Gomez, Meghan Dees, Katie Lockwood and Sophia Carroll all added goals in the win.
For Spahr, Gomez, Dees and Lockwood it was their first goals of the season.
“We were able to spread the wealth tonight and some kids that don’t get a chance to play a lot got to play tonight,” Eastern Florida State College women’s soccer coach Jeff Carr said. ”
“Again, we did not play a whole 90 minutes tonight but we had some good moments. I commend ASA Miami for playing so hard with basically one sub. They’re work rate was actually better than ours at times.”
The Titans will turn their attention to a showdown with unbeaten Daytona State on Thursday night at Embry-Riddle.
“(Daytona State head coach) Brittany (Jones) has done a great job with that program in a short amount of time. We will have our hands full,” Carr said.
