65-year-old woman dies at scene

Tammy Russell, 40, of Melbourne, was killed early Sunday morning about 12:20 a.m. when the golf cart she was driving overturned into a water filled canal at Whispering Oaks Circle and Aurora Road.
Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred on October 8 that left a 65-year-old woman dead near US-1 and Steamboat Dr.

BREVARD COUNTY • MICCO, FLORIDA – Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that occurred on October 8 that left a 65-year-old woman dead near US-1 and Steamboat Dr.

According to the report, a dark green passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on US-1 as the pedestrian was walking on northbound on southbound US-1.

The driver of the vehicle then struck the pedestrian.

Officials couldn’t identify the make or model of the dark green vehicle but the vehicle will have damage to right-front headlight.

Hood damage and/or right side damage could also be possible on the dark green vehicle.

Officials are still attempting to locate the victim’s family. Authorities believe that the victim was homeless.
