BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – A ribbon-cutting ceremony planned Oct. 6 to officially mark opening of the University of Florida/Brevard County Extension Service’s Wickham Park Community Garden has been postponed to Thursday, Oct. 27, due to preparations for Hurricane Matthew. The event will be held 3 – 6 pm.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency in every county of Florida ahead of the storm, and UF/IFAS Extension Brevard County staff and faculty will be aiding in emergency preparation and response.

We urge our community members to take all possible precautions in preparing for Hurricane Matthew.
