The Melbourne police reported that a pedestrian was struck and killed as he crossed N. Wickham Road, south of the Parkway Drive intersection, by a 2001 Toyota Sienna traveling southbound.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Melbourne Police are investigating a possible drive-by shooting incident Tuesday night that occurred around 10:30 p.m. near the 3400 block of Sparrow Ct., according to Lt. Shawn Eising of the Melbourne Police Department.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

When officers arrived on scene they located evidence a bullet had entered a residence through a bedroom window, according to authorities.

According to a witness, they heard the gunshots and observed what they believe to have been a newer model silver Ford Mustang leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

At this time, it is not known whether the residence was the primary target or a disturbance took place on the street resulting in a stray bullet making contact with the structure.

Police say there is no evidence to indicate this shooting was related to the earlier incident at Portofino Villa Apartments.

The investigation is ongoing.
