Several Area County Landfills Open This Weekend, Trash Pickup Resumes Normal Schedule Monday

Landfills open from 7:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. Sunday
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Residents cleaning up post-Hurricane Matthew can take their yard waste to three County landfills today and tomorrow.
Yard waste facilities opened at 10 a.m. today (Saturday) in Melbourne, Sarno Transfer Station, 3379 Sarno Road; Titusville, Mockingbird Mulching Facility, 3600 South Street; and Cocoa, Central Disposal Facility, 2250 Adamson Road.
Landfills opened today at 1 p.m. and household garbage will be accepted at two locations: Melbourne – Sarno and Cocoa – Adamson.
Landfills will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
The County’s regular curbside pickup for yard waste, trash and recycling will resume its normal schedule on Monday. Waste Management will work Sunday to resume normal collection in Palm Bay.
Municipalities in Brevard County will resume normal collection schedules on Monday. Yard waste left at the curb does not need to be bagged, but cut in lengths of four feet or less and in piles of no more than 50 pounds.
