VIDEO: Category 4 Hurricane Matthew Prepares To Strike Caribbean Islands On Monday

ABOVE VIDEO: National Hurricane Center’s latest readings for Category 4 Hurricane Matthew shows the movement for the system has picked up a little by moving North Northwest at 5 mph.

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – National Hurricane Center’s latest update for Category 4 Hurricane Matthew shows the movement for the system is moving directly North at 5 mph.

Max Sustained Winds continue to be hovering around 145 mph.

Hurricane Warnings are issued for Jamaica, parts of Haiti, Cuba and the Southern Bahamas.

According to the NHC, hurricane conditions are expected to reach Jamaica and Haiti on Monday, and eastern Cuba Monday night. Tropical storm conditions are expected to first reach Jamaica and Haiti tonight, and eastern Cuba early Monday, making outside preparations difficult or dangerous.

Matthew is still considered to be a massive hurricane, in terms of size, covering over 600 miles.
